Autonomous Transportation Vehicle Liability Insurance is Now Available in the US through Appointed Retail Agents.

CTC Transportation Insurance Services, LLC, one of the largest transportation Managing General Agents in the country, is pleased to introduce a commercial vehicle insurance program for semi- and fully autonomous commercial vehicles. The market for this program is growing rapidly. Tesla, Waymo, Baidu, Alibaba, CMU Navlab, Renault Toyota and Volvo have all announced ongoing efforts to design and build semi- and fully autonomous cars and trucks.

This new program is exclusively available to CTC’s retail agents. CTC writes liability insurance for trucking risks through two risk retention groups, Spirit Commercial Auto RRG and County Hall Insurance Company RRG.
In a joint announcement, the Presidents of CTC’s risk retention groups, Brenda Guffey (President of Spirit Commercial Auto) and Scott A. McCrae (President of County Hall Insurance Company) stated: “Working in conjunction with CTC Transportation, we plan to be at the forefront of this dynamic, emerging technology. Self-driving autonomous vehicles are in escapable reality in the industry. Utilizing technologies such as radar, GPS, 360-degree camera systems, powerful onboard processing computers and internet integration, it won’t be long before driverless vehicles are rolled out to many industries, including long-haul trucking, livery, Uber and other on-demand car services.”
